Singing grasshoppers are being placed in the 8 speakers, establishing a space - the setting is a field. Flies whirls humming through the space. Later on the grasshoppers are rhythmicaly brought together and synchronized. The transition between the different states is executed almost imperceptibly. Like in a hallucination.
The work explores the sound possibilities of the insects - from the absurd comical to the machinelike / mechanical.
To give a convincing representation of a summers day in a grass field, the heath and light in the room will be turned to maximum during the concert. The floor may even be covered in artificial grass...
